🔍The Problem
The world is currently facing an unprecedented and highly sophisticated cyber threat landscape, with the financial impact of cybercrime skyrocketing. According to the FBI's 2021 IC3 report, cybercrime costs have reached over $6.9 billion. If cybercrime were a country, it would rank as the third-largest economy globally—following only the U.S. and China—with projected damages estimated to hit $10.5 trillion by 2025 (Cybersecurity Ventures).
A significant portion of successful cyberattacks stems from unpatched vulnerabilities, with 82% linked to unpatched or exposed services (Tetra Defense). Additionally, 60% of data breach victims suffered due to an unpatched, known vulnerability, and 62% were unaware of their vulnerabilities before the breach (Ponemon Institute). The average cost per data breach has surged to $4.24 million, the highest recorded in the 17-year history of IBM's reporting.
